It’s interesting that we need to know that others see us as beautiful in order for us
to believe it. How we appear to others has a direct effect on most of us when it
comes to seeing ourselves. Earlier in my career, I worked with beautiful
models at magazine photo shoots and runway fashion shows. What struck
me most about these stunning men and women was their need for constant reassurance
about their appearance. Without that feedback, their anxiety affected
their emotions, their body language, and – inevitably – the way they looked. Just
like the rest of us, when they felt secure and confident about their appearance,
they projected that feeling effortlessly. They lit up from within. Before my eyes,
they transformed into compelling, dynamic, radiant figures. What a difference
a thought can make!
