Aging, sun exposure, harsh cleansers, windburn and acne- these are just some of the factors that can really take a toll on our skin and how healthy (or not) it looks and youthful we look.
The good news is that there are many things we can do to “turn back the hands of time.” Below are a few simple at-home treatments and medical treatments done by licensed professionals. We will continue to keep you updated on different skin treatments every month!
At-Home Treatments
- Vitamin C: Fight wrinkles with 75mg of Vitamin C each day. The more Vitamin C you have in your diet, the less likely you are to develop wrinkles.
- Sleep: Getting the recommended 7 to 8 hours allow skin cells to renew themselves during sleep and allow the skin to heal.
- Less Sugar: Excess sugar intake can make skin look dull and wrinkled. It's part of a process called glycation that breaks down the skin and decreases it firmness and elasticity.
Professional Treatments
- Exfoliation: A build-up of dead skin cells gives skin a rough and uneven texture. Exfoliation removes the build-up and increases the rate at which the skin cells renew. The result is softer, smoother skin.
- Microdermabrasion: A cosmetic procedure using light abrassion to remove the dead, outermost surface of skin. The procedure removes sun-damaged skin and can remove or lessen scars and dark spots.
